The first weeks

Tiny fingers, sleepy yawns and new beginnings

The first weeks with a new baby are tender, tiring and gone far too quickly. A newborn session holds on to the details you will want to remember: tiny fingers curled around yours, soft hair, the weight of your baby asleep on your chest.

My newborn sessions are relaxed lifestyle sessions in your own home. There is no rushing and no pressure. We work around feeds, naps and nappy changes, and I photograph your family as you are.

Gentle and safe

A calm, baby-led session

Baby comes first: your baby is always handled by you, kept warm and never placed in a position that is not safe or comfortable.

At home: soft window light, your own bed or nursery, and the blankets and toys that already belong to your baby.

The whole family: parents, siblings, grandparents and even the dog are welcome.

When: the first two to three weeks are lovely, but any time in the first few months is beautiful too.

Book before baby arrives

Send me your due date, and I will pencil in a session for the first weeks.

Let me know when baby is here

We choose a day that suits your baby’s routine and your recovery.

A calm session at home

I work around feeds and naps. Your hand-edited gallery arrives within 30 days.

Newborn photoshoot questions

When should I book a newborn photoshoot?

Ideally during pregnancy. I pencil in your due date and we confirm the exact day once your baby has arrived.

How much does a newborn photoshoot cost?

A newborn session is R1,750. See my prices and FAQ page for all session fees.

Where does the session take place?

In your own home, where your baby is warm, comfortable and close to everything you need. I travel throughout St Francis Bay, Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp and the Kouga.

Can Dad and the rest of the family be in the photos?

Yes. Mum, Dad, grandparents and even the family dog are welcome. The session is relaxed and baby-led, so everyone can join in when baby is settled.

Do you have a studio?

I do not work from a studio. As a newborn photographer I come to you, so your baby stays warm and comfortable at home and you do not have to travel in those early weeks.

Do you travel to my home?

Travel within my free-travel service area is included. Sessions further afield are charged at R6.50 per km.

When will I receive my photos?

Your hand-edited gallery arrives within 30 days of your session.

Can I book a maternity photoshoot as well?

Yes. Many parents book a maternity photoshoot before their baby arrives and a session with their little one afterwards. A maternity session for Mum and Dad is R1,750.

How do I book a session with a newborn photographer?

Send me a WhatsApp message with your due date or your baby’s birthday and where you live, and I will pencil in a date for those first weeks.
