A proposal happens in seconds: the look on their face, the tears, the laughter, the long hug afterwards. Having it photographed means you can live it fully and still keep every moment.

Many couples plan their proposal while on holiday on this coast, and I love helping. I know the quiet corners of the beaches, where the light falls at sunset, and how to stay out of sight until the moment is right.

Surprise proposals

How a surprise proposal works

We plan in secret: by WhatsApp, we choose the place, the time and a signal so I know when you are about to kneel.

I stay hidden: I arrive early and blend in as a photographer on the beach, far enough away to stay unnoticed.

The moment: I capture the question, the reaction and the first hug from a distance.

Afterwards: we spend 20 to 30 minutes on relaxed couple portraits in the golden light, while the moment is still glowing.

We choose the spot, the time and your signal, with a backup plan for wind or weather.

How do you stay hidden during a surprise proposal?

I arrive early and position myself at a distance, often looking like a photographer shooting the view. With a long lens, I can capture every expression without being noticed.

How much does an engagement or proposal photoshoot cost?

Surprise proposal, engagement and anniversary sessions are all R1,750. See my prices and FAQ page.

What if the weather is bad on the day?

We always agree on a backup day or a sheltered spot. If you are on holiday, message me early so we have a few evenings to choose from.
